Gingerbread Membership and Friendship Groups
Gingerbread friendship groups are run by single parents, for single parents. They are a chance to meet other single parents and make new friends. To join a friendship group, you first need to become a Gingerbread member. Membership is completely free and there are lots of perks to being part of Gingerbread, including a monthly e-newsletter packed full of updates and special offers and access to lively forums.

Citizen Advice bureaus provide free, independent, confidential and impartial advice to everyone on their rights and responsibilities. They provide the advice people need for the problems they face from helping with debts to employment rights. Newport Citizen Advice office is at 8 Corn Street, Newport. They are open from 10am to 1pm Monday to Wednesday & 10am – 3pm on Fridays for general enquiries and offer a benefits and debt drop in from 9.30 – 12.30 and an employment drop in from 12:30 – 3pm on Thursdays. The phone number may be expensive from a mobile so might be best to drop in.
